kavishj611 5h All the people who are anti-Al or want to slow Al progress, I have one question: If Al disappeared tomorrow, could you still get through an entire workday without ChatGPT, Claude, or any other Al tool? Imagine Al was suddenly banned. Would you actually be willing to give it up?

Seven in the morning. I wake up slightly before the alarm goes off. Years of working gave me this routine, and although I am still very sleepy, I naturally get off bed and drag myself to the bathroom for the self-care ritual.

Teeth brushed, face washed and all other necessities taken care of, I walk to work. I very rarely have breakfasts: I associate eating with fun and enjoyable moments that I look forward to, and I do not look forward to work. At most, I just drink a cup of water and if I feel like it, I eat two or three crackers.

It's 20 minutes of walking until I arrive at the office. I know it is wrong, but I usually walk while looking at the news and art on my phone. Sometimes I solve a sudoku puzzle. It's one of the few true moments of leisure I have, so I find it hard to give this up.

I get my face scanned to clock in at work. I always grimace at the machine to show my contempt to them, and unfortunately, it still manages to recognize me. After this quick stop, the real journey starts.

Hot cup of coffee in my left hand, mouse on my right. I check the reports, do the paperwork, and look at the emails to see if there's something new. Usually, there aren't. Then, I check the phone app (people in Brazil are reliant on Whats App for working, something I really dislike).

Sometimes I stay at work during my lunch time, especially when the amount of work is huge, but usually I walk back home to have lunch. I could do this same route by car, sure, but I enjoy walking. It's good exercise and one less car in the hectic business district of my city.

Another grimace at the machine after lunch, and my work period continues for four more hours. The lunch often makes me feel sleepy, so I'm always relying on coffee to keep me awake. Sometimes I look at Bluesky art posts and send my girlfriend a message to see how her work day's going. She's been extremely busy lately!

I sort through the documents, fill in forms and reports and scan some to send via emails. I grabbed a cracked version of Adobe Acrobat that lets me add OCR to the PDFs (I'd never pay this heinous company a single dime).

I'm usually the last one to leave my office. The quietness of the last 20 minutes really does wonders for productivity. I'm often stopping to help out coworkers and attend other obligations, so this is actually the period when the work productivity increases.

The sun is almost setting when I step out the building. I grab a snack or meat skewer if I feel like it, or drink a cold beer in exceptionally difficult days. I haven't had time to invest on my creative hobbies due to work being intense these days, but I'm surviving.

I arrive home when the sun is barely visible on the horizon. The stars are as bright as ever. The wind is kind of cold, but after a hot shower and a hot supper, I play some games and chat with my sweetheart. And I tell her good night, and we go to sleep before 1AM.

And no AI was used in any point of my daily life. And it has been like this for literal years. AI can get lost for all I care. I have no use for this useless trash.

The humanity has survived without it for the largest part of our history, so there is no way I could consider it to be essential for my daily life. And there is no way I could admire someone who feels the desire to lay their hands on it.

Some coworkers are already enslaved by it. They are content with the AI-generated summaries on their Google searches, and rely on Chat GPT to generate text, and now, are unable to type things on their own. They claim that it has improved their work output, but the prize for optimizing work is more work, and the insatiable system will never congratulate you for doing more and more.

There is simply no place for Generative AI in my life, and I do not intend to ever use it at all.
